Woman seriously injured in Kaimuki pedestrian accident

A 68-year-old woman was taken to a hospital after she was struck by a vehicle in Kaimuki early Tuesday.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Waialae and 16th avenues at approximately 6:23 a.m. Emergency Medical Services said a vehicle struck the woman who was reportedly in a crosswalk at the time of the collision.

The pedestrian sustained injuries to her lower back, right arm and head. Paramedics treated her and took her to a hospital in serious condition.
