William Cole’s article on the role of current deployment of F-22 stealth attack planes is truly an alarming journalistic threat (“F-22s from storm-damaged Florida coming to Hawaii,” Star-Advertiser, Nov. 7).
Cole writes — without so much as a qualifier like “potential” or even “future” — that Hawaii’s Raptors “would be key in the initial air campaign in a war with China.”
Gee, I know the reckless Trump regime is escalating a lose/lose trade war with China. But when did the Pentagon consider an imminent “air campaign” with Beijing? Your editors were apparently asleep at the wheel for not requiring Cole to justify this virtual declaration of war. Or has the corporate media completely become a willing mouthpiece for the new 21st-century Cold/Hot Warriors?
I believe your paper needs to present an apology to the public for such a blatant oversight.
