Here are some chilling facts (not fake news) about how we Americans are both killing and hurting one another and ourselves.
There are 100 daily gun deaths (with 200 injuries) in our country. There are 72,000 overdose death per year (30,000 of which are opioid-related), and 123 suicides committed every day, with veterans accounting for 22 of that number.
Between 10 and 35 percent of our entire population will be physically aggressive toward a partner in their lifetimes. Three women are killed every day.
What are we doing about it? You would think that if there was one bipartisan issue our congressional representatives could and should be working on, it would be to stop this violence and increase the peace within our own borders.
