I lived in Singapore for several years and would be more than happy to reside there — the clean and organized city, and the blend of old and new society, are some of the reasons why.
I don’t know whether the Singapore Housing and Development Board still adheres to this, but I imagine it would: If you apply for public housing and have a parent still living, you will be given priority, since the government will expect you to care for your elderly parents. Isn’t that nice?
When I visited someone in the Queenstown complex, I smelled no stench nor saw trash or graffiti. Can we adopt this style of living? I hope so. We have to.
Oahu is the same size as Singapore Island, and has approximately 1 million residents. Singapore has about 5 million residents. If it can do it, why can’t we?
