Meadow Gold wastewater spill fouls Honolulu waterways

The Meadow Gold milk plant in Honolulu. The state Health Department advises the public to remain out of the waters of the Ala Moana Canal along Ala Moana Boulevard, the pond at Ala Moana Beach Park, Ala Wai Boat Harbor and Kewalo Basin due to a wastewater discharge from Meadow Gold Dairy.

The department’s clean water branch was notified today of an estimated 3,250 gallons of wastewater discharge from Meadow Gold Dairy’s headquarters at 826 Cedar St.

Warning signs are being posted. The spill has since been stopped, but the public is advised to remain out of the waters affected until signs have been removed.
