Victorina Morales, an undocumented housekeeper from Guatemala who has worked at President Donald Trump’s National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., for five years, “approached” The New York Times with her story of abuse and insults at the hands of the Trump organization (“Making President Trump’s bed: A housekeeper without papers,” Star-Advertiser, Top News, Dec. 6).
Not only did she break the law by entering the U.S. illegally but she submitted fake documents in order to get hired. Two strikes!
She does what housekeepers do — make beds, clean bathrooms, and pick up after people and their messes. Are we supposed to feel sorry for her? That is the job she is paid to perform. She is obviously very adept, as she was recognized for outstanding support during the president’s visits. I do not condone a supervisor’s belittling of her, but she said these same people helped her keep her immigration status under the radar.
Doesn’t the press have more important issues to cover?
