SUPPLIES NEEDED
>> Jumbo craft stick
>> White acrylic paint
>> One 1 1/2-by-1 1/2-inch piece of black Foamie foam
>> One 1-by-1-inch piece of orange cardstock
>> Two 7-millimeter googly eyes
>> Black fine-tip permanent marker
>> A 6-inch length of 1/4-inch-wide red satin ribbon
>> 5 inches of baker’s twine
>> Mini glue dots
>> 1/4-inch-wide Doublestick tape
>> Scissors
>> Optional: 1/2-inch heart-shaped punch
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Paint one side and the edges of the craft stick with the white acrylic paint. Let dry.
2. Tie the ends of the baker’s twine together to form the hanger. Tape to the end of the painted side of the stick. This will be the top of the snowman.
3. Cut the black foam into a top hat, as shown. Tape hat to the top of the craft stick over the baker’s twine.
4. Use the mini glue dots to paste on the googly eyes below the hat. For the nose, punch out a 1/2-inch heart from the orange cardstock and cut in half. Or use scissors to cut a tiny carrot nose. Use a glue dot to stick under the eyes.
5. Use the black marker to draw circles under the nose to form a mouth.
6. Tie the red ribbon around the stick to make a scarf and secure ribbon with tape or glue dots.
7. Use the fine tip black marker to draw in 3 buttons on the body below the scarf. You can also add the year or a name to personalize the snowman.
8. Hang the snowman ornament or stick several snowmen in a dish for a table-top decoration.
