Eric Ragragola was charged Wednesday evening with first-degree terroristic threatening, abuse of a family or household member, first-degree sexual assault, kidnapping and a firearms-related offense.

Hawaii island police charged a 48-year-old Puna man with multiple offenses in connection with a kidnapping incident in the Fern Acres subdivision on Tuesday that prompted intervention by the Hawaii Police Department’s Special Response Team.

Eric Ragragola was charged Wednesday evening with first-degree terroristic threatening, abuse of a family or household member, first-degree sexual assault, kidnapping and a firearms-related offense.

Patrol officers and Special Response Team personnel were called to the subdivision Tuesday morning on a report of a man with a rifle threatening a woman during a domestic dispute and not allowing her to leave the property.

A department report stated, “upon the approach of the Special Response Team, the suspect surrendered, and subsequent service of a search warrant on the property resulted in the recovery of an AR-15-type rifle and ammunition.”

He is being held in lieu of $140,000 bail.
