Young Brothers Ltd. honored 59 employees for their years of service with the interisland tug and barge company at its annual service awards event.
“Young Brothers employees take great pride in our work, bringing all types of cargo to all islands, all the time,” Joe Boivin, company president said in a news release Friday. “It is an honor to celebrate their commitment, which keeps all of Hawaii connected.”
The company employs more than 370 workers across Hawaii. Young Brothers operates six tugboats and eight barges and makes 12 sailings a week and more than 600 sailings a year.
Shoemaker sues 3M Co. over risks
Wolverine World Wide Inc., the maker of shoe brands like Merrell, Saucony and Cat Footwear, has sued 3M Co., alleging it concealed information about the environmental and health risks of chemicals it sold to make shoes water and stain repellent.
Wolverine’s suit says 3M made money by “actively concealing information regarding potential environmental risks known only to 3M.”
The lawsuit was filed Wednesday in Michigan District Court.
