Three former University of Hawaii volleyball players have been named to the U.S. team that will compete in this week’s inaugural international snow volleyball tournament in Moscow.
Emily Hartong, an indoor All-American for the Rainbow Wahine, and beach All-Americans Katie Spieler and Karissa Cook will join Allie Wheeler, a beach All-American at USC, on the roster. Making up the men’s team are Lloy Ball, Will Robbins, Kevin Owens and Tomas Goldsmith.
Play is three-on-three, best two-of-three with sets to 15.
The seven-stop European tour begins with this week’s event in Russia. The ultimate goal is to have snow volleyball in the Olympics, perhaps by 2026.
