I am a grandparent who has enjoyed going to the annual age-group swimming championships for young Hawaii swimmers throughout the state for the last seven years. The meet this year was at the K. Mark Takai Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center on Oahu.

Several hundred swimmers take part in this event every year, which would not be possible without supportive parents, dedicated coaches and an appropriate facility.

A special mahalo to the Hawaii Swim Club, which hosted the event from Dec. 14-17 this year. A big thank you also to the many volunteer officials and timers who made this event possible.
