A recent letter writer complained that immigrants from Central America in their low-paying jobs are a cost to taxpayers through their demands on our social programs, and that we should build a wall to keep them out.
There are many, many more native Americans in the same kinds of low-paying jobs. So they are equally costly to taxpayers. Does the letter-writer have a solution for that larger problem?
