Yes, Hawaii’s population is declining — at least the population of taxpayers (“Hawaii’s population has declined and could affect the economy,” Star- Advertiser, Dec. 21).
Does anyone remember the remark made by Gov. David Ige on Dec. 3 in his second-term inauguration speech? He said, in remarking about his three children: “And I am also happy to report that they all graduated and, much to our delight, are currently pursuing their careers … on the mainland.” He admitted that his own children had to go to the mainland to find a career.
The only segments of the population that are growing in Hawaii are mainland vagrants and foreign investors.
Hawaii is officially “toast.” Will the last taxpayer to leave, please turn off the lights?
