Boy, 13, dies after scuba diving at Maunalua Bay
A 13-year-old boy is dead after experiencing trouble while scuba diving from a tour boat at Maunalua Bay Beach Park Saturday, according to multiple media reports.
He was reported missing at about 11:45 a.m. Honolulu Ocean Safety lifeguards found him unresponsive about 60 feet underwater and brought him to shore, according to an Emergency Medical Services report. Honolulu firefighters performed CPR until an ambulance arrived.
The boy was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later died.
