Politicians and the public get all worried about the stuff farmers do and what they use. Every year we have to defend our work.
Come New Year’s across our islands, a hypocrisy starts up. Somehow, thousands of untrained and unpermitted people get unlimited amounts of highly dangerous and toxic professional-grade fireworks.
These items come in unregulated and are blown off within a few feet of keiki. The air is also polluted for hours, exposing sensitive populations to toxic smoke leading to respiratory issues.
Not only do people get put in danger, but pets also. How many dogs and cats get freaked out and lost? How many have been hit because of fright?
Where the heck are our politicians so ready and eager to save us from the real and proven danger around us?
Where are the green saviors to protect the keiki and sensitive populations from these highly deadly and unregulated imports? Where are the Earth saviors protecting the air quality when you need them?
You won’t hear a peep, and we know the politicians will do nothing about this.
