Likelike Highway closes for HECO pole repair

A utility pole is seen bending over Likelike Highway that requires emergency repair work, prompting a partial closure of the highway.
Likelike Highway was closed in both directions near Emmeline Place today as Hawaiian Electric Company crews replaced a utility pole. The pole supports power lines that cross over all lanes.
Kaneohe-bound motorists were stopped at Nalanieha Street and detoured through Kalihi Valley to rejoin Likelike Highway at Valley View Drive.
Honolulu-bound commuters had to take an alternate route. Drivers were advised to use the H-3 freeway or Pali Highway.
