State transportation officials say all Kaneohe-bound lanes of the H-3 freeway will be closed this Sunday as well as next Sunday for filming of the CBS television series ‘Magnum P.I.’

The H-3 will be closed between the Halawa and Kaneohe interchanges from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 20.

Motorists should consider using the Likelike or Pali highways as alternative routes to the windward side, state officials said, since the Kaneohe/Kailua-bound H-3 freeway will be closed from the beginning of the route in Halawa to the Likelike Highway offramp from the H-3 (Exit 9).

The public is also advised that the filming on the H-3 will involve special effects, including simulated gunfire and smoke.

Real-time traffic information for the Koolau routes, including Likelike and Pali highways, is available at GoAkamai.org.
