The makai-bound lanes on Makakilo Drive between Anipeahi and Aoloko streets will remain closed through Tuesday morning as the previously repaired eight-inch water main broke again this afternoon.

Traffic is being rerouted to side streets by special duty police. Residents are advised to play for delays during Tuesday morning’s commute.

Around 2 p.m. today, a paving contractor repairing the roadway reported water coming out of the road.

The 8-inch water main break was reported Sunday afternoon at 99-620 Makakilo Drive. Water service was restored by 8:30 a.m. today to affected customers.

Six homes and four other customers will be without water. A water wagon is being set up by the Board of Water Supply.
