Motorists traveling westbound on Farrington Highway should be aware of a right-hand, or mauka lane, closure scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday in Maili and Nanakuli for the installation of transformers mounted on utility poles, the Hawaiian Electric Company said.

In Nanakuli, the lane closure will span one block, beginning at Hakimo Road. In Maili, the lane closure will span the block from Pelanaki to Kakalena streets.

Traffic signs will be posted, and special-duty police officers will help direct traffic on Farrington Highway during the work. Parking in the area will also be restricted, HECO said.
