La Pietra-Hawaii School for Girls is offering to match tuition for female students affected by Saint Francis School’s decision to discontinue its middle and high schools at the end of the current academic year.

Under terms of the offer, Saint Francis students can attend La Pietra, which offers grades 6 to 12, for two years under Saint Francis’ current tuition of $13,000 per year. La Pietra’s regular tuition is $19,700.

Transferring students may apply for financial aid after the two years are up.

La Pietra, which will also waive its application fee and SSAT requirement, is one of several schools vying for students affected by the Saint Francis shutdown.

Some 30 schools are expected to participate in a school fair at the Saint Francis gym, Saturday, 9 to 11 a.m., during which students will be able to meet with counselors and administrators from the schools.
