Man, 53, with 14 felony convictions arrested in Kaneohe assault

Police arrested a 53-year-old man after he allegedly assaulted a 34-year-old man with a metal flashlight in Kaneohe.

The attack occurred at approximately 2 a.m. Wednesday. Police said the victim sustained a laceration above his eye and a laceration to the back of his head.

The two men are acquaintances.

Police responded and arrested the assailant in the area of Holokaa Street on suspicion of second-degree assault.

He was also arrested on suspicion of promoting a dangerous drug in the third-degree after officers found a plastic Ziploc-type baggie in his possession that contained a drug suspected to be methamphetamine.

Police said the suspect has 126 prior arrests and 14 felony convictions.
