Police have arrested a 65-year-old man in connection with Tuesday’s bomb threat against the Hawai‘i Convention Center.

At about 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a report of a threat made over the phone to the convention center, police said. The caller allegedly threatened to bomb the building.

Officers conducted a thorough sweep of the structure at 1801 Kalakaua Ave. and found no threats.

Upon further investigation, police arrested the suspect in the Kalihi-Palama area Wednesday morning on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.
