What important advice this is for our governor and policymakers (“Modernize Hawaii’s agriculture industry to increase yields,” Star-Advertiser, Island Voices, Jan. 22).
Let’s pay attention to Vincent Kimura’s research and develop a state agriculture plan to keep food on our table, working with our University of Hawaii School of Agriculture and experts from other parts of the world.
Our graduates need to learn and carry on by growing our own healthy food not only for ourselves, but for export.
These are obtainable goals. We need our governor and legislators to agree that sustainability and careful agriculture planning will keep Hawaii living healthy and wise.
