Police remove man from Makiki home for mental observation
A man was taken into police custody for mental observation after he was found holed up inside a Makiki home with a woman reported to be his girlfriend.
The incident took place at 1569 Nehoa St.
Police closed Nehoa from Punahou Street to Poki Street around 7:20 p.m. Wednesday to conduct an investigation.
Officers from the Honolulu Police Department’s Specialized Services Division were among those to respond.
The area was reopened by 8:30 p.m.
