We were in Las Vegas during the Super Bowl. While waiting to cross at a Las Vegas Boulevard crosswalk, where there is a high mix of foot traffic alongside oncoming vehicles, we noticed an array of thick bollards. We stood there as cars whizzed by. These large metal, concrete-filled posts afforded a sense of security against the very near passing traffic as the crush of people behind us left no room to dodge an impaired driver.
Would this possibly work to protect exposed and stranded pedestrians on these dangerous right-turn triangle islands such as the ones at Kamakee, Ala Moana, Punchbowl, South Beretania and many more here?
