A place of dining and consuming food, or a place that sells food, should not allow pets of any sort.
I have witnessed too many times where animals, especially dogs, are allowed to sit on chairs or in pet bassinets on chairs. Dogs shake their heads. Pet hair and dust go airborne. Many forms of allergens and bacteria are already evident in the air we breathe, and pets add to them. Little do these pet owners realize the risk they place on sensitive, bacteria-allergic persons.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I love animals, but there is a place for all animals. I have full respect and support for trained, service-related dogs, accompanied to assist one in need. These type of dogs do not sit on patrons’ chairs.
What a pet owner does at home is his or her own business and choice, but don’t bring pets to public eateries and food-selling places. Have some consideration and respect for those with allergies.
