In May 2017, we were confronted with a proposal to “improve” Ala Moana Regional Park. Bruce Lum has alerted us to the city’s continuing attempt to do so (“Updated proposal for Ala Moana Beach Park unsatisfactory,” Star-Advertiser, Island Voices, March 7).
I said in May 2017 that, among other things, we need open green space and the sand and ocean for play (“Ala Moana Park just fine as natural space,” Star-Advertiser, Letters, May 18, 2017).
Lum reminded us that Ala Moana is “the world-class ‘People’s Park’ that it has always been.” Let us continue to use and appreciate it.
