Police and state sheriffs are looking for a work furlough inmate who left the Laumaka Work Furlough Center without permission Tuesday.
Robert Yamaguchi, 34, left at around 3:30 p.m. He is described as 5 feet 3 inches tall, 162 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair, although he usually keeps his head shaven. He has the name “Melissa” tattooed on the right side of his neck.
Yamaguchi is serving time for unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, promoting a dangerous drug, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and bail jumping, according to the state Department of Public Safety. His next parole hearing is scheduled for August, and he now faces an additional escape charge.
Anyone who sees Yamaguchi should call 911 or 586-1352.
