Keaau man wanted for questioning in Puna shooting this morning

Hawaii County police are looking for a 31-year-old Keaau man in connection with a shooting at a Hawaiian Beaches home.

Police responded to a report of several shots being fired after 6:15 a.m. on Kawakawa Street today.

Officers said the 26-year-old woman reported her ex-boyfriend fired several shots toward her, but she was not injured.

The incident was classified as a first-degree terroristic threatening and reckless endangering case.

The 31-year-old man is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs 160 pounds, has a medium build and medium complexion with black hair and brown eyes.

He is considered armed and dangerous, police said, and ask the public to call police at 935-3311 to report his location.

Police are also looking to question a 32-year-old Pahoa man, who may be driving a green 1990s Toyota pickup truck with a black hood. The truck does not have its original plates, and was last seen with the Hawaii License Plate No. HFF-131 on the rear bumper.

Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Gavin Kagimoto at 961-2276 or email gavin.kagimoto@hawaiicounty.gov or 935-3311.
