Tourist, 53, from Washington state dies in waters off Kauai

A 53-year-old visitor, identified as Evan Forsnes of Spokane, Wash., died Sunday after he was found unresponsive in waters off of Kalapaki Bay, Kauai.
A 53-year-old visitor died after he was found unresponsive in waters off of Kauai Sunday.
He has been identified as Evan Forsnes of Spokane, Wash., according to a Kauai Police Department news release.
Police said Forsnes was swimming in waters off of Kalapaki Bay Sunday afternoon when he became unresponsive and was observed floating face down in the water shortly after 4 p.m.
Police, firefighters and the Coast Guard responded.
Forsnes was taken by ambulance to Wilcox Hospital where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.
Police said foul play is not suspected.
