Kids become collateral damage when their parents break the law. Kids who had no knowledge of payoffs by parents to college recruiters were unfairly rewarded by gaining admission to prestigious colleges. The rigged admission process also prevented a deserving kid from entrance to his dream school and cheated him out of his application fee.
Parents’ decisions have a major effect on the educational opportunities of their kids. Do a good job and you give your kids a solid foundation on which they can build their careers. Mess up and you damage their chances to achieve their goals.
It is important to our society that colleges maintain the highest degree of integrity in their efforts to give our kids a quality education.
The admission process must be trusted to be a fair process for everyone deserving to be admitted to their school of choice.
