Biola defeated Chaminade 5-4 and 10-2 in a Pacific West Conference softball doubleheader on Tuesday in La Mirada, Calif.
In Game 1, the Silverswords built a 4-1 lead entering the bottom of the sixth but could not hold as Biola scored two runs each in the sixth and seventh innings, including a two-run walk-off double as the Eagles completed the comeback. Chaminade’s Rainelle Matsuoka hit a home run, while Kiana Ulufale recorded two hits.
In the nightcap, Biola (16-10, 11-5 PacWest) jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings and coasted to victory in a game shortened to five innings due to the mercy rule.
Kayla Henmi and Cheyne Obara each had two hits for the Silverswords (10-23, 7-19).
Chaminade stays on the road and opens the Tournament of Champions against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday in Turlock, Calif.

The Eagles’ Callie Nunes and Vulcans hurler Valerie Alvarado matched each other with no-hitters entering the bottom of the seventh in the opener. The only hit of the game came on a Mackenzie Graham single. Lauren Lopez would later pinch run and advance on a sacrifice bunt before moving to third on an infield groundout. Lopez stole home for the lone run of the game.
Game 2 featured home runs by Isabelle Mejia and Vevesi Liilii for UH Hilo (21-11, 16-8) in the sixth inning as they tied the game at 3. However, the Eagles (26-4, 15-3) won the game in the bottom of the seventh on a two-run walk-off home run by Sydney Sprinkle.
The Vulcans also head to the Tournament of Champions and open up with Cal State San Marcos.
