No. 1 University of Hawaii volleyball keeps rolling against UC San Diego
Junior opposite Rado Parapunov put down 18 kills and No. 1 Hawaii extended its NCAA-record sets-won streak to 69 with a 25-17, 25-17, 25-16 victory over UC San Diego in a Big West men’s volleyball match today in La Jolla, Calif.
It was the eighth straight win for the Rainbow Warriors (23-0, 6-0) in RIMAC Arena and the 13th consecutive victory over the Tritons (7-15, 0-6).
Hawaii, which leads the nation in blocks (2.80), had seven. Senior middle Dalton Solbrig was in on four.
The Warriors, who also lead the country in hitting percentage (.481), hit .471. The Tritons hit .133, below the national-best .185 that Hawaii had been holding its opponents to.
Senior hitter Stijn van Tilburg, playing in the first two sets, finished with seven kills with one error on 11 attempts. Senior middle Patrick Gasman had no errors in adding four kills, the eighth time in the past nine matches he had no hitting errors.
Senior setter Joe Worsley just missed out on a double-double, finishing with 32 assists and nine digs.

Sophomore hitter Wyatt Harrison, son of former Warrior Todd, led UCSD with 14 kills.
Hawaii returns to the Stan Sheriff Center for its final regular-season home matches against No. 3 UC Santa Barbara on April 5 and 6. The Warriors conclude the regular season at No. 2 Long Beach State on April 12 and 13.
