Public asked to help ID man whose body was found in Hilo

Hawaii police asking for the public’s help in identifying a man whose body was found slouched over a utility pole in Hilo early today.

The man’s body was found at about 1:40 p.m. on Kilauea Avenue.

Police have not discovered any foul play at this time. An autopsy is expected to be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

Police are asking for witnesses to determine whether the man frequented the area of Kilauea Avenue.

Anyone with information is asked to call officer Joseph Picadura of the Hawaii Police Department’s South Hilo Patrol Division at 808-261-2213.
