State transportation officials are installing vehicle shelters over the parking lot entrance and exit lanes at Hilo International Airport, resulting in new height limits.

To avoid causing damage, a vehicle-height-limiter bar will be installed at a height of 9 feet and 6 inches at the parking lot entrance.

Any vehicles that meet or exceed the bar height will no longer be able to enter the parking lot, and will instead need to park in the designated oversized vehicle parking area near the parking attendant booth at the exit.

Additionally, any vehicles that meet or exceed the bar height and are currently parked within the parking lot will need to be removed by 10 p.m. on Monday.
