Hawaii outside hitter Stijn van Tilburg places the ball past UC Santa Barbara opposite Keenan Sanders and setter Randy DeWeese during the second set.

Junior opposite Rado Parapunov put down a match-high 20 kills and No. 1 Hawaii remained undefeated with a 25-18, 25-22, 25-16 sweep of UC Santa Barbara tonight in a Big West men’s volleyball match in front of a season-high 6,969 at the Stan Sheriff Center.

The Rainbow Warriors (24-0, 7-0 Big West) extended their NCAA record consecutive sets won to 72. The Gauchos (17-6, 4-3) outblocked Hawaii — the top blocking team in the country — 11.5-4.

The two teams meet again Saturday at 7 p.m., senior night for Warriors setter Joe Worsley, hitters Brett Rosenmeier and Stijn van Tilburg, and middle Dalton Solbrig. The match already is sold out, Hawaii’s first sellout since 1997.

UCSB, losing for the fifth straight time in Honolulu, got a team-high nine kills from freshman hitter Ryan Wilcox, a Punahou graduate.

Parapunov finished with four of the team’s nine aces.
