Kenya’s Josphat Kumutai Tanui crossed the finish line at 01:02:32 during the Hapalua half marathon on Sunday. Tanui chased down all the Team Hawaii members and pulled ahead of the last runner, Cindy Anderson, who had a 19 minute early start, in the last 50 yards of the marathon.
Wyatt Marquet, 10, joined his mom, Alicia, for a portion of the Hapalua half marathon in Waikiki on Sunday. Alicia’s family was there to cheer her on as she ran her fifth marathon.
Team Hawaii's Matt Holton slapped hands with Mike Chesire of Kenya who placed second overall with a time of 1:03:04. Holton was placed sixth overall at 1:15:02.

Team Hawaii’s Cindy Anderson crossed the Hapalua finish line shortly after overall winner Josphat Kumutai Tanui of Kenya. Anderson had a 19 minute early start and was ahead of the pack until Tanui chased her down and ran past her during the last 50 yards of the race.
