Mapunapuna road closed after repaired water main breaks again

A broken water main near 761 Ahua Street has closed makai-bound lanes today. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
A Mapunapuna water main that was repaired Monday broke again this morning, forcing the closure of Ahua Street, officials said.
The Board of Water Supply said its crews are working to repair the 8-inch water main near 761 Ahua St.
They said the line broke again today while repaving work was being done for Monday’s break in the same area.
Makai-bound traffic on Ahua Street is being rerouted to Kaihikapu Street and motorists are asked to avoid the area, officials said.
