The Hawaii Emergency Management Agency is conducting siren testing between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. today and Thursday at seven locations on Kauai.

Siren tests are scheduled for Anini Beach Park, the Donkey Beach Parking Lot Area in Kealia, Waipouli Waikaea in Kapaa, Wailua Homestead Park, HP Faye Park in Kekaha, Kaumakani Park, and Omao Park.

Residents may hear the siren sound for 30-second to 3-minute intervals during the identified timeframe, and short blasts known as “burps.”

Residents with concerns about the sirens, or with reports of siren malfunctions, may contact the Kauai Emergency Management Agency at 241-1800.
