Two dogs attacked a mother and her 1-1/2-year-old daughter near the Children’s Discovery Center in Kakaako on Thursday.

KHON-TV reported Sunday that the attack happened as the family was waiting for the center to open.

The mother, Brandy Bennett, is recovering from bruising, scratches and a bite mark on her legs.

Bennett says two medium-sized, caramel-colored poi dogs rushed toward them and she held her daughter as high as she could while bystanders got the dogs away and called 911.
