Recently I called the Honolulu police about ongoing activity across the road — the dismantling of automobiles, with the hulks left to the city to dispose of at taxpayer expense.
This occurs out here as well as in countless other places around the island. If police ever show up, nothing is ever done, which only gives the perpetrators license to do it again and again.
The vehicle I referenced bears no license plates or safety inspection sticker and yet is on public property. I’ve tried notifying the watch commanders of the area’s police district, to no avail.
Contacting the mayor proved fruitless. I tried to contact the Honolulu police chief; it looks like that would take an act of some kind of god to accomplish.
What is it going to take to get some semblance of law and order back in our communities?
