OK, state Rep. Cynthia Thielen is against helicopter noise. We got it. But to use Monday’s tragic accident to grandstand and promote her political agenda is unconscionable. How cynical can one get. And how ignorant: Thielen states that all tour helicopters ought to be grounded, “until the authorities have assessed this situation.”

Sure, every tour company should just park their aircraft and wait for a couple of years until the National Transportation Safety Board has this sorted. It’s hard to believe this is a lawmaker we elected.
