It’s so sad about the woman with her baby who got attacked by dogs near the Hawaii Children’s Discovery Center in Kakaako. KGMB-TV news on Thursday reported that in three years, 21 dog attacks have occurred in Kakaako Waterfront Park.
When is the city and state going to do something about the extremely bad homeless camps in that area? They keep calling the campers a “persistent group” who don’t want to go to shelters, so the city allows it to be “easy” to live on the street regardless of the laws, by not sweeping them out more frequently.
I remember the mayor saying they would do weekly sweeps. What happened? Look at Kakaako Gateway Park in front of Waterfront Park: it’s a mess again with homeless tents right around the whole block. It’s been a mess for months now. When will this stop? Very attractive for tourists on their way to Waikiki, on whom we depend.
