A 26-year-old man died late Saturday after crashing his vehicle into a rock wall in Waianae.

Honolulu police said the man, of Kaneohe, was speeding mauka on Plantation Road about 11:35 p.m. when his vehicle crossed the double solid centerline, left the roadway and crashed through some guide wires and a chain link fence. The vehicle continued straight onto Hoopuhi Street then crashed into a rock wall.

A city ambulance crew treated the man and took him to an area hospital in critical condition where he was pronounced dead.
