Regarding Doug Tonokawa’s letter about additional overhead under a proposed change for trash pick-up payments (“Raise property tax rate instead of adding fee,” Letters, Star-Advertiser, April 29): How long you live Kailua, Doug?
By now you should know that the Democrats don’t do anything without increasing the size of government, or the size of our community’s payback to the government. Hence, your suggestion — to just increase the property tax rate, since that billing and collection system is already in place, rather than create a new bureaucracy — makes too much sense. Therefore, it will be ignored.
But in comparison to the rest of this island captive to the Democratic machine, lucky you live Kailua, eh?
