University of Hawaii holding commencement ceremonies

It’s graduation time for more than 4,800 students at University of Hawaii campuses, and commencement ceremonies are in full swing.

Starting today, nine of the 10 campuses are holding their spring 2019 commencement ceremonies, the university announced.

UH Maui will hold commencement ceremonies this evening. Hawaii, Honolulu, Kauai, Kapiolani, Leeward and Windward Community Colleges will hold commencement ceremonies on Friday, and UH Manoa, UH Hilo and Hawaii Community College Palamanui hold ceremonies on Saturday. UH West Oahu held its ceremony on May 4.

The students are receiving undergraduate and advanced degrees and certificates. About 2,200 of the students will be graduating from UH Manoa on Oahu.

The following is a breakdown of participating graduates by campus:

>> Hawaii Community College – 214 participating (Hilo); 57 (Palamanui)

>> Honolulu Community College – About 300

>> Kauai Community College – 127

>> Kapiolani Community College – 455

>> Leeward Community College – 375

>> Windward Community College – 233

>> University of Hawaii Maui College – 296

>> University of Hawaii at Hilo – 640

>> University of Hawaii at Manoa – About 2,200
