Honolulu police and CrimeStoppers are warning the public about the growing number of businesses being burglarized due to the theft of keys from lockboxes.
Police said businesses have been burglarized after the suspect broke open key lockboxes and used the key to enter the business.
They urge business owners to refrain from leaving spare keys in a lockbox.
Instead, police ask businesses to consider having a designated employee to hold spare keys and have delivery times adjusted to when an employee will be present.
Anyone with information about such incidents is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME on a cell phone.
