9-year-old girl hit by car in Waipahu crosswalk

A car struck a 9-year-old girl after school Tuesday in a Waipahu crosswalk at or near August Ahrens Elementary School.

An Emergency Medical Services report said the girl was in stable condition after the 2:18 p.m. incident at 94-1170 Waipahu St.

EMS said paramedics assessed, treated and transported the girl in stable condition to a medical facility.

She was taken to Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children, police said.
