Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones talks with boxer Deontay Wilder on Thursday in Arlington, Texas. Wilder will make the ninth defense of his WBC Heavyweight title on Saturday in Brooklyn against his bitter rival Dominic Breazeale.

Deontay Wilder, WBC heavyweight champion, as quoted in the May 17 Star-Advertiser:

“I am still trying to get me a body on my record. Dominic Breazeale asked for this. This is the only sport where you can kill a man and get paid for it at the same time. It’s legal. So why not use my right to do so?”

Enough. It is time to throw in the towel on covering news about fighting. When one man proclaims his desire to use sport to legally kill another man, it is time for responsible media to get out of the game.

Otherwise, may I ask if you have plans to run a future headline such as, “Wilder fulfills dream by killing Breaszeale” with a subtitle, “Earns $15 million”?
