Whatever happened to the olde Republican Party of fiscal responsibility and efficient government?
Simple: It’s disappeared and resurfaced with the more appropriate name — the “Know Nothing” party (a third party that existed in the 1850s with a similar agenda).
If asked by outsiders, members would reply, “I know nothing.” The new GOP is now led by “know nothings” masquerading as conservatives and patriots.
They want to restore their view of what America should look like: inciting ethnic hatred, suppression of women’s rights, restrictive immigration policies.
Sounds familiar.
The party of Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower and Ronald Reagan is gone. In its place is a cast of characters interested in their own survival and retention of power at any cost.
Can the olde GOP rise again?
